Mailjet
Connect Mailjet to WasteNot to sync delivered messages by recipient email address. Use recent deliveries to keep existing recipients out of acquisition campaigns and build audiences from email activity.
Prerequisites
- A Mailjet account that is sending email
- Your Mailjet API Key and Secret Key
WasteNot checks messages sent during the last 90 days on every run. Mailjet filters the message resource by send time, while a message's delivery status can change later.
Connecting Mailjet
Step 1: Find your Mailjet keys
- Sign in to Mailjet
- Open API Key Management
- Copy the API Key for the Mailjet account or sub-account you want to connect
- Copy the Secret Key when it is created, or reset it if the existing value is no longer available
Step 2: Connect Mailjet in WasteNot
- Add a new Mailjet data source in WasteNot
- Enter a name for the data source
- Paste your API Key
- Paste your Secret Key
- Click Connect
WasteNot verifies the key pair, creates the Mailjet delivery stream, and begins syncing.
What gets synced
WasteNot syncs one Mailjet email event:
- Delivered — Mailjet reports that the recipient's mail server accepted the message
Each event includes the recipient email address, Mailjet message ID, Mailjet contact ID, and delivery time. WasteNot uses the email address as the recipient identity.
Frequently asked questions
Can I connect more than one Mailjet account or sub-account?
Yes. Mailjet sub-accounts use separate API key pairs. Add one WasteNot data source for each key pair whose activity you want to sync.
Does WasteNot sync opens, clicks, bounces, blocks, or unsubscribes?
Not currently. Mailjet's list endpoints for those events do not include the recipient email address, so the Mailjet connector currently syncs delivery events only.
How do I rotate my Mailjet Secret Key?
After rotating the key in Mailjet, open Integrations, edit the Mailjet data source, and replace the Secret Key. If the old key stops working first, the data source may show a failed status until you update it.
My data source shows "Failed" status
Confirm that the API Key and Secret Key belong to the same Mailjet account or sub-account and are still active. If you need help, contact support@wastenot.io.
